About
Creating paintings that capture the essence of people and places through colour, atmosphere, and personal narrative, shaped by travel and family life.
About
I am an artist and educator based in Phuket, where my practice is shaped by both personal narrative and the vibrant everyday life of Southeast Asia. My work moves between portraiture and observed street scenes, exploring identity, place, and the quiet moments that connect people to their environments.
My portrait work focuses on family and self, capturing a sense of belonging, memory, and the idea of being “at home” within ourselves. Alongside this, my street-based pieces document fleeting interactions: market scenes, rain-soaked streets, and games played in passing. These works act as visual stories, grounded in observation but layered with atmosphere and emotion.
A regular sketchbook practice sits at the core of my process. Through drawing from life, collecting visual fragments, and recording everyday moments, I build a personal archive that directly informs my larger works. This ongoing practice allows me to experiment freely, refine ideas, and remain closely connected to my surroundings.
Alongside my studio practice, I am an experienced Visual Arts educator, teaching IB and IGCSE students. This role continually informs my work, encouraging experimentation, reflection, and a deep engagement with artistic process.
Through both teaching and making, I aim to create work that is thoughtful, accessible, and rooted in lived experience.
